1Sa 3:6 And Jehovah called again, Samuel! And Samuel arose and went to Eli and said, Here am I, for you called me. And he answered, I did not call, my son. Go back, lie down. 1Sa 3:7 And Samuel did not yet know Jehovah, and the Word of Jehovah had not yet been revealed to him. 1Sa 3:8 And Jehovah called Samuel again, the third time. And he arose and went to Eli and said, Here am I, for you called me. And Eli saw that Jehovah had called the child. 1Sa 3:9 And Eli said to Samuel, Go, lie down; and it shall be, if One calls you, you shall say, Speak, Jehovah, for Your servant hears. And Samuel went to lie down in his place. The Bible highlights Samuel as a significant prophet, priest, and judge, similar to Jesus. Samuel’s obedience and faithfulness are emphasised, as God chose him over the High Priest Eli, to serve. The text underscores the potential for God to call children, even infants, to serve Him, citing examples like Jeremiah, John the Baptist, and Jesus. God is calling children and youth to dedicate themselves to Him. Parents should nurture and teach their children, helping them develop a strong sense of right and wrong. Ultimately, everyone, including children, will be held accountable for their actions and obedience to God. God wants to hear from you, acknowledging and saying, “Dear God, here I am, please use me.”
